OhioTate and Mintzy get uninvited from Ole Miss frat house

Ohio's Tate dropped the plan on Wednesday night: for the LSU-at-Ole Miss trip, Mintzy had supposedly locked in lodging at the Alpha Tau Omega house on campus — Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, no bedroom, just couches. Tate framed it as a win. The internet framed it as a crime scene waiting to happen.

The roster piled on almost immediately. Brandon Walker couldn't get past the logic of it, pointing out Mintzy makes six figures and still won't book a hotel. Eddie said he was devastated he wouldn't be there with his "Taus," and Nicky Smokes was already looking forward to documenting Mintzy on something stronger than Miller Lite at the after-party. Annika Christy called the whole arrangement best-case scenario, which, depending on who you ask, is either an endorsement or a threat.

It didn't last. Thursday afternoon, Tate posted that the ATO brothers held a "group decision" and revoked the invite just 90 minutes after accepting it — with a clip of the chapter's president reportedly breaking the news to Mintz directly. Tate's kicker: Mintzy is apparently still inviting himself to lunch regardless.

The commentary track wrote itself from there. Feitelberg needled that Mintzy was wearing a shirt commemorating the last house he stayed in and wrecked, and Rico Bo$co reached for the Home Alone comparison — the Wet Bandits leaving the water running, Marv's "all the great ones leave their mark." Stoolies Clubhouse thought the frat let its own brothers off easy by calling it a liability instead of owning the flip-flop.

Whatever happens to the couch situation, the trip itself is still on. LSU visits Ole Miss on September 19 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford — the Magnolia Bowl, on ABC — which gives Mintzy roughly a week to find either a hotel room or a new fraternity willing to take the risk.
