Stool After Dark went live for the Intern Olympics, and within minutes the format was set: physical stations, trivia gauntlets, and a commentary booth that couldn't help but get involved. Before a single question got asked, the crew running the show had already locked in a Hot Chip Challenge for the end of the stream, which tells you exactly the energy this thing was operating at.
The host laid out the competition to a lineup of interns standing arms-crossed on the turf, right before the booth agreed to a Hot Chip Challenge finale.
The first real event was the Yak Gauntlet, and it lived up to its name. The bit is simple and brutal: gas an intern out physically, then sit them down for a rapid-fire Yak Grab Bag trivia round covering everything from NBA coaches to Jell-O flavors to which countries border Hungary. One contestant, worn down from the stations before it, finished with a 10-out-of-54 score in 2:37 -- a 19% clip that says more about lactic acid than IQ.

It wasn't just physical exhaustion doing the damage. Simon Mann took his own crack at the Yak Grab Bag and hit a wall on a category that should be kindergarten-level: colors of the rainbow. The clip made the rounds as a ROYGBIV joke at his expense, proof that these grab bags are less about sports knowledge and more about whether your brain still works under stage lights.

Event 2 pivoted from trivia to institutional knowledge with the Barstool History Exam, and it exposed just how green this intern class actually is. The prompt asked contestants to name the 3 main locations Barstool has called headquarters, and at least one intern drew a total blank, prompting an incredulous "What the fuck is Milton?!" from the group watching him flounder. For a company that treats its own lore like scripture, whiffing on HQ history in front of the whole room is about as rough a moment as an intern can have.
Interns sat in a circle for the Barstool History Exam, quizzed on the company's past headquarters locations.
Between the gassed trivia scores and the HQ history blank, the Intern Olympics is doing exactly what these company traditions are designed to do: separate the interns who've actually studied the Barstool playbook from the ones just showing up for the free content. With a Hot Chip Challenge still looming at the end of the stream, there's no sign the humbling lets up anytime soon.
