From there it snowballed. New York took the lead outright, then just kept adding on — a run here, three more there — until Hubbs was tweeting in disbelief at the scoreboard itself. Grisham capped his night with a second homer, his 15th of the season, to push the margin to 8-5 before the Yankees tacked on even more late.

This was Grisham's 9th career multi-homer game and his 5th three-hit game of the season, and he finished with 4 RBIs from the leadoff spot. It was also New York's first time reaching double digits in runs since July 9, giving the offense a night to feel good about after weeks of grinding. Hubbs summed up the full performance afterward, crediting the bullpen for digging out of an early hole and needling a division rival on the way out — "Sox lose again, some legit space there now".
Marty Mush kept it simple watching the final score settle in: "Yankees win again. God this team is special". After a comeback win like this, with Grisham heating up and Jones flashing more upside, it's hard to argue.
