FSUFootball's own account made the case better than any depth chart could: this week's episode of "Beyond the Spear" put Daniels next to Anquan Boldin, the program framing its year around a quarterback room that finally sounds settled after a portal-churned offseason. For a fan base that spent August watching its QB situation get more complicated by the day, that alone is worth something.
There's a second occasion happening before Daniels even lines up. Florida State will retire Sebastian Janikowski's No. 38 tonight, per Brett McMurphy — the two-time Lou Groza winner becomes the 13th player in program history to have his number retired, and it turns a Week 0 game against an outmatched opponent into an actual event at Doak.
