Surviving Barstool Season 5 Episode 5: One Fall Changes The Game
TLDR: Marty Mush faked an injury in the middle of a challenge, stopped it for ten minutes, got up and won it — and bought a hidden immunity idol with the whole thing. Then Worm went to its first council of the season and the man who had been the target all afternoon talked the vote onto somebody else.

The mission was called The Faker: fake an injury that stops the next challenge for ten minutes, and win that challenge anyway. Glenny Balls found the scroll, read the terms, said "I don't think I can do that" and handed it to Marty Mush almost immediately — which is the clearest statement Glenny has made all season about what he is playing for.
Marty fell off the balance beam pulling Dana Beers down on top of him, sold an ankle to the medic for close to the full ten minutes, then got up, played on and won. He has since pointed out that involving the medic was not him improvising — it was written on the scroll.

Beam Ball went 4-0 to Pigeon, sending Worm to its first council of the season. Marty kept the limp up for the rest of the episode to protect the secret, and by that night two of his own tribe were on camera working out that he had just bought an idol with it.
The tribe was set on Rone all afternoon — Pat McAuliffe and John Feitelberg both said so on camera, for the antics and the lying.
For everyone saying I played badly in this episode of Surviving Barstool; I went to a new tribe, flipped everyone to a nearly unanimous vote, kept my idol and stayed in the game. Maybe you wouldn’t have done it but my plan worked perfectly.
Rone's argument was that he was the one doing the work while Dante sat on the couch watching the Cavs game. It was true, and it was enough. He never played the idol he has had since episode 1, at a council he had been told all afternoon was about him.
His own account of the night does not oversell it and does not need to: he went to a new tribe, flipped everyone onto a nearly unanimous vote, kept the idol and stayed in the game.
For those inquiring, my logic on keeping Rone over Dante was 1. Me and Rone made a very strong pregame alliance months before the show 2. Rone is a good shield for me as another big target strategic player. If my tribe says “let’s keep Dante over Rone because he’s a good player” maybe they say the same for me next 3. I’d rather work with someone who is rational than someone I deemed as a wild card who could blow up my plans (and already voted for me once) #SurvivingBarstool
Jeff read four of the six cards — Dante, Dante, Rone, Dante — and stopped, so the 5-1 on the season page does not come from the read. It comes from the booth, where every one of the six speaks: Rone holds his card to the camera and it says DANTE, and Pat, Tommy and Feitelberg each apologise to the man whose name they have just written without saying it.
