WSD drafts Chuck Norris in Dog Walk's fictional draft

TLDR: The Dog Walk's fictional character football offense draft with Mike Katic and T-Bob Hebert turned into a fight over 2 picks: WSD taking Chuck Norris, a real person, and Super Mario as a QB.

The rules were simple: fictional characters only. WSD apparently read that as a suggestion.

WSD drafted Chuck Norris in a fictional character draft Does he make a good point?

Could Chuck Norris’s roundhouse kick translate to kicking FGs? Presented by @thefarmersdog

This is the best kind of draft argument because both sides are right. Chuck Norris is a real guy, an actual martial artist and actor who is very much not a cartoon. But somewhere around the 2000s, Chuck Norris the person turned into Chuck Norris the internet character, the guy who counted to infinity twice. So which Chuck Norris got drafted? WSD's case is basically that the legend is the fiction. The other side's case is that you can look him up on IMDb. The kicker logic is honestly not crazy, though. If you're taking anybody for a roundhouse-to-field-goal conversion, it's him.

The setup came from the 11/3 episode, where Katic and T-Bob came on to build the best football offense out of fictional characters. Every drafter filled 5 slots: QB, HB, WR, OL and a kicker. That means you're making real roster decisions with made-up people. And the QB slot is where things got weird.

Would Super Mario be a good QB? Presented by @thefarmersdog

The case for Mario is pretty easy to make. He's been athletic for 40 years, he jumps higher than anyone in the league, he has done every sport Nintendo ever put him in, and he's never quit on a level in his life. The case against him is also easy to make. He's a plumber who is about as tall as a fire hydrant. Pocket presence is going to be a problem when the guys up front are 6-foot-5. Eddie also asked the more fun question on the timeline: who's the player comp?

That's why this one spread across the Barstool timeline in a single afternoon. Dog Walk drafts have always been less about who wins and more about which pick turns into a week-long grudge, and this one gave everybody 2 at once: a rules-lawyer fight over Chuck Norris and a scouting report on a cartoon plumber. Nobody's settling either one. Expect Norris to come up again the next time WSD tries to argue a pick on a technicality.
