Fore Play recaps Internet Invitational episode 2

TLDR: Fore Play broke down Episode 2 of the $4 million Internet Invitational on Tuesday, with Frankie comparing life alongside Dave Portnoy at Big Cedar to the Game of Thrones shame walk.

Frankie had plenty to talk about. Episode 2 cut the field from 64 to 32, and he was one of the guys sent home.

Frankie on what it’s like to play in the Internet Invitational with @stoolpresidente: “I feel like the shame walk in Game of Thrones. Every time I show up to Big Cedar I know I’m gettin a bell rung behind my fuckin head as I walk naked and everyone just throws things at me”

That's classic Frankie, playing the punchline at his own expense. On the rundown it sat in a segment called 'Frankie & Dave', and it plays like a guy who knows exactly what the comments section has been saying about him for 2 years. The actual damage happened on the course. According to Yahoo Sports, Frankie and 2025 co-champion Francis Ellis both went out with Peter Finch's team, which lost a playoff to Ryan Ruffels' squad when Big John, the Fog Father, buried one of the biggest putts of his life. Brad Dalke's team also got bounced, 6-2, by Wesley Bryan's group in the scramble. So 2 former champions are already done with 4 episodes left.

The fans, though, kept talking about a hole where nobody looked like a champion. Jerry, Trent, Salim and The Duke spraying it all over Big Cedar became one of the clips people passed around from the recap, and the hosts talked through it on the pod.

This hole is a perfect example of what separates the Internet Invitational from other golf tournaments. Jerry, Trent, Salim and The Duke were pissin the ball all over the place and that point mattered just as much as any other in a tournament with 4 million dollars on the line!

The fan take in that post is the right one. The Internet Invitational is built on 1-point matches with no handicaps, so an ugly hole between 4 content guys counts the same as a pro-level birdie, with $4 million on the line. Bad golf with real stakes is the whole product, and it is why this event pulls viewers that a regular YouTube match never will.

Frankie had been hyping this episode for days. On the Fore Play episode about how the show was produced, which came out on October 29, the same day Episode 2 dropped, he made a big claim about it.

“Episode two is some of the greatest golf ever recorded in YouTube golf history.” – Frankie Borrelli

It's a big call from a guy who got eliminated in that episode, but the Big John putt alone gives him a case. 32 players are left at Big Cedar Lodge, and Episode 3 has already gone up on YouTube, per Yahoo. The Fore Play guys are off the course and back on the mics, which might be their best spot this season. Expect more recaps and a lot more shame walk jokes.
