Francis talks Internet Invitational pressure on Boy Dad

TLDR: Francis Ellis went on Son of a Boy Dad to break down Day 1 of the $4 million Internet Invitational and his pairing with Frankie, and Lil Sas had a varsity-golf comeback ready.

Francis came into this year's field as a former champion, and he was picked to play alongside Frankie on Peter Finch's team.

Some background. The 2nd Internet Invitational was filmed in August at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri, and Episode 1 hit YouTube on October 26. The field grew to 64 players and Portnoy raised the prize from $1 million to $4 million. The Fore Play guys helped come up with the event, so Frankie isn't some random guest. The tournament is basically his baby. Francis won it last year, which means he has the most to lose.

“Got to get former champion Francis Ellis up here, please. Let's go, baby.”

The draft put Francis and Frankie in the first matchup of the day, in a scramble against 2 Good Good players. On the show last week he walked through exactly who they drew.

“It was me and Frankie against Bubby from Good Good and Marissa also from Good Good Girls. She's unbelievable.”

That match against Bubbie Broders and Marissa Wenzler ended halved. That's a respectable result against 1 of the stronger pairings in the field. But Francis didn't come on the show to celebrate a half. The part people are clipping is him explaining why team golf messes with your head. It's not about your own score. It's about knowing a whole team is counting on your shot. Lil Sas wasn't going to let that go without a joke.

“You can’t understand how hard it is. There’s something about knowing that you’re letting that many other people down. That’s where the pressure is” -Francis “Oh yeah. You’re talking to the 6th score on varsity brother” -Lil Sas

"The 6th score on varsity" is a perfect answer. On a high school team, the 6th score is often the one that gets dropped, so Sas is claiming he knows big-money pressure because of a score that might not have even counted. That line is also why people are now asking for Sas in the field next year. Barstool keeps adding creators and athletes every year, so a spot for a Boy Dad isn't out of the question. For now, the rest of the episodes will show whether Francis and Frankie's team pulls it together. Either way, Francis will be back on the couch next week to tell everyone how it went.
