Hank Lockwood goes full Glentleman on Pardon My Take

Hank has been the third mic on PMT for years, and the clip accounts got to work on him early in the morning.

Glentleman is the joke going around, and it fits: a Hank who's suddenly all in is funnier than a Hank who's still skeptical. If you know Hank, you know he doesn't come over to anything quietly. He commits, and then he starts talking. Before long that turned into one of the best malaprops the show has produced in a while.

Read it twice and it still doesn't land anywhere. It's the old 'if ifs and buts were candy and nuts' line, with applesauce and a bicycle added for no clear reason. This is why Hank works on the show. Big Cat and PFT can riff for an hour, but the episode really takes off when the producer gets talking and can't find the end of his sentence.

He didn't save all his best material for the cliché, either. Within half an hour another clip was going around with Hank firing a line straight at PFT, the sort of line that guarantees he'll hear it again on the next 3 episodes.

PFT was busy too. Away from the desk, he was sarcastically praising an 'important film breakdown' from someone he called America's next country rap sensation, and he added a hashtag that says plenty about the record of whoever he meant. He didn't name anyone, so we won't either, but you could see the eye-roll through the screen.

That's a normal PMT Thursday: one host fake-praising somebody's tape on X while the producer turns into the episode's main character. If the Glentleman thing sticks, Hank is going to have to answer for it every week, and nobody on that show lets anything go quietly. Keep an eye on the next episode to see whether he stays a believer or flips back the first time the bit goes sideways.
