Pardon My Take's win total parlay sinks on the Chargers

The hosts finally said it out loud on Wednesday's episode, and they didn't love it.

Turns out that putting a parlay on all of the PMT guys teams to go over on their win totals might not have been a good idea
The idea behind it was simple. Take every PMT guy's team, put them all on the over and parlay the whole thing together. It's a loyalty bet more than a betting bet, which is about how it's playing out. One leg pays nothing on its own if a single other team falls short, and one team on this ticket hasn't won a game yet.
The Bears end is going great. Chicago beat New England 30-24 on Thursday Night Football in Week 7 and is 5-2 under Ben Johnson. Big Cat's team is doing its job. In a parlay that doesn't matter much, because the Bears can win out and the ticket still dies if the worst team on it can't get going.
That team is the Chargers. LA lost to Arizona, Las Vegas, Buffalo, Seattle, Denver and Kansas City, sat on a bye in Week 7 and goes into Week 8 at 0-6. It's the franchise's worst start since 2000, when they still played in San Diego. That's coming off back-to-back 11-6 seasons and 2 straight playoff trips, which is how a Jim Harbaugh team ends up on an over ticket in the first place. The betting world noticed it too. After the Week 6 games, VSiN went through the list of teams still looking for a win.
“The two winless, with the Titans win yesterday: the Chargers and the Dolphins. That's it.”
Since that clip, Miami has gotten off the schneid and the Chargers haven't, so LA is now the NFL's only winless team. Every game the Chargers lose cuts down how many they could still win, and at 0-6 the math is getting tight. Depending on where the number was set, LA is a couple more losses from the over being mathematically dead. At that point the whole parlay is dead with it, no matter what Chicago or Washington do.
The next chance is Week 8 against the Rams at SoFi, a road game in their own stadium against a 3-4 team that just put 35 on the Raiders. If the Chargers drop that one too, the hosts can stop sweating the ticket and have fun with it instead. Calling it one of the worst bets of all time on air is a good start. The bet still hasn't technically lost, so for now Chicago and Washington have to keep winning while everyone waits on the Chargers.
