Steven Cheah takes Mike Evans TD vs. Commanders on MNF

TLDR: Steven Cheah's Monday Night Football pick is Mike Evans to score an anytime touchdown against Washington, even though the 49ers receiver missed every practice this week and is a game-time decision.

Cheah gave out the bet Monday afternoon on Quick Picks, and his whole case fits in 4 words: he owns the Commanders.

"He OWNS the Commanders" @stevencheah is taking Mike Evans ATTD tonight @DraftKings #DKpartner

The catch is that nobody knows yet whether Evans plays. He's questionable with a rib injury he picked up in Week 4 and an Achilles issue that showed up this week. He didn't practice once all week, the first time this season he's missed a full week of practice. Beat writers can't agree either. David Lombardi of the San Francisco Standard says Evans is on track to play, while KNBR's Larry Krueger said he'd be very surprised if Evans suits up.

Adam Schefter tipped it toward Cheah on Monday, saying the Niners are optimistic Evans goes and will check him in pregame warmups before making the call. San Francisco's inactive list comes out 90 minutes before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, so anyone tailing should wait for it. A bet on a player who doesn't dress is money stuck in limbo when it could be riding on something else.

If he does play, the history backs Cheah up. Evans has played through missed practices before. Last week he sat out Thursday with the ribs and then caught 7 balls for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win over Seattle. Through 5 games in San Francisco he has 24 catches, 326 yards and 3 scores, and the 49ers are still undefeated.

Cheah has been pushing touchdown bets all month. Back on Friday's Quick Picks, the show opened with a DraftKings touchdown promo before getting to the board.

“I've teamed up with DraftKings because touchdowns are taking center stage this week.”

The targets help too. Deebo Samuel Jr. is ruled out with a hamstring and Christian Kirk is questionable with a calf, so if Evans is healthy enough to go, he's probably the first look in the red zone. If he's active, the bet is mostly about whether the ribs and Achilles let him get loose near the goal line. Watch the inactives, then watch who gets the ball inside the 10.
