Mintzy rips Kellen Moore after Saints fall in Paris

TLDR: The Saints lost 16-10 to the Steelers at Stade de France, and Mintzy says the Kellen Moore era is fatally flawed no matter how well Tyler Shough plays.
At halftime it was already clear what kind of game this was. The Saints trailed by just 3 points, and the rushing numbers looked like a misprint.

Steelers 13 Saints 10 Half Rush Yards Steelers 90 Saints 11 This is unsustainable! Shough playing helluva game tho
It didn't get better after the break. Per the AP recap, Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle combined for 142 of Pittsburgh's 148 rushing yards, and New Orleans finished with 18 yards on 17 carries. When one team runs for 148 and the other runs for 18, the passing game has to carry everything. That meant Shough, who is playing through 2 broken bones in his left hand. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the injury, which goes back to a hit in the first half of the Week 4 game against the Falcons, and Shough has been doing his handoffs with his right hand, sometimes reaching across his body to do it.
For most of the day Shough was good enough to keep the Saints in it. He finished 30-of-38 for 278 yards and a touchdown, and late in the game Mintzy was calling it Shough and Olave playing 2 on 11. The one mistake was a big one. Midway through the 3rd quarter Shough threw his first career interception in the red zone, in a game his team lost by 6. Big Cat went straight to the jokes.

Listen sometimes Shough’s so catchable the other team catches. Part of being so good
On the other side, Aaron Rodgers went 19-of-30 for 212 yards and a touchdown in the first NFL game ever played in France, in front of 78,488 people. Pittsburgh moved to 5-2. New Orleans fell to 2-5, and at the final whistle Mintzy stopped blaming the quarterback and started blaming the coach.

Steelers 16 Saints 10 Final Can’t run the ball…. Can’t stop run & never prepared in 1st half. Kellen Moore era is fatally flawed no matter how good Shough is
That's a harsh verdict on Moore in year 1, but the numbers back up the frustration. You can't win getting outrushed by 130 yards, and you can't ask a QB with a broken hand to do everything. Moore didn't push back much after the game either. "We've just got to evaluate everything," he said. "We have to really dig into it, from the season as a whole." If that evaluation doesn't fix the run game on both sides of the ball, Shough's great afternoons will keep ending as losses, and Mintzy will keep filming these from the couch.
