Will Compton reacts as Dylan Raiola beats Nebraska

TLDR: Dylan Raiola came off the bench to throw a 4-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left as Oregon beat Nebraska 17-14, and Huskers alum Will Compton took it about as badly as you would expect.
Nebraska was in control in Eugene for a long time Saturday night, and around halftime Will Compton was already trying to talk Husker Nation off the ledge before anybody had climbed onto it.
Lot of ball left Don’t drink the Rhule-Aid Stay away from the Rat Poison Don’t tweet “give us Dylan Raiola” Don’t think about the running the table if we win this game Just go win the next half
In hindsight it reads like a man who has seen this movie before. Don't drink the Rhule-Aid, don't dream about running the table, and whatever you do, don't tweet "give us Dylan Raiola." The Huskers took a 14-6 lead into the 4th quarter. Then Oregon put in the guy Nebraska fans weren't supposed to tweet about. Raiola hadn't started, either. Yahoo reported before kickoff that Oregon was benching him in favor of Brock Thomas for this one, so he came in cold, against the program he played 2 seasons for.
His first drive ended in a 37-yard Gage Hurych field goal that cut it to 14-9. On the next one the Ducks got to the goal line, and it looked like Raiola had found Dakorien Moore for a 4-yard touchdown with 33 seconds left. It was called a touchdown on the field and overturned on review, and Barstool's main account had been ready to run the official out of the sport over the original call.
The reversal bought Nebraska exactly 5 seconds. On the next snap Raiola hit Jamari Johnson in the back corner of the end zone with 28 seconds to go, Oregon converted the 2-point try, and it was 17-14 Ducks. Script writers, take a bow.
This is what makes it hurt in Lincoln. The knock on Raiola the whole time he was a Husker was that the big moment never came. T-Bob said exactly that on Wake Up Barstool back in September, after Raiola and Oregon beat USC.
“He never had the moment at Nebraska anytime they got close to anything resembling a stage. They never came through.” – T-Bob
So of course his moment came against Nebraska. According to the recaps he went 11-of-18 for 59 yards in the 4th quarter. That isn't a big stat line, but it was enough to keep Oregon (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) from losing back-to-back home games for the first time in 10 years. Compton, who had been in full warning mode a couple of hours earlier, went straight to the generational trauma.
That's about as good a summary of being a Nebraska fan as anyone has written. The Huskers led for most of the night in a hostile building and gave it away to the exact quarterback whose name every fan in the state was told not to type. Now they have to get over it before the next Big Ten Saturday. Compton's halftime advice is worth keeping: forget the Rat Poison, forget running the table, and just go win the next half.
