Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis and Cody Beef Franke after winning the 2025 Internet Invitational

TLDR: Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis and Cody “Beef” Franke won the first Internet Invitational and its $1 million, beating Paige Spiranac, Frankie Borrelli and Malosi Togisala 1 up when Borrelli’s chip on the 18th went in the water. 48 creators started the week at Big Cedar Lodge in August 2025; Franke died that October, the weekend before the first of 6 episodes aired.

The final was 18 holes of alternate shot, match play, 3 against 3, for $1,000,000 split 3 ways — $333,333 each — and it started about half an hour after the semifinal ended. Spiranac, Borrelli and Togisala came in as the favorites; it was all square at the turn. Ellis holed a long putt on the 12th for his three’s first lead of the day, Spiranac’s three squared it on the 13th, Dalke’s won the 14th, and Borrelli’s approach into the 17th squared it again.

Borrelli had taken the 18th tee shot in his three’s rotation “in case it comes down to it,” and it did: all square on the tee, Borrelli against Dalke. On the par-5 18th their 4th shot, Borrelli’s chip, came out heavy and went in the water, and Dalke’s three won the hole and the match. The whole round is in the finale recap. How it finished:

Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis, Cody Franke
1 up · $333,333 each

Paige Spiranac, Malosi Togisala, Frankie Borrelli

Runner-up

Borrelli’s verdict on himself came a minute later.

“I will never escape the butter knives.” – Frankie Borrelli

Two rulings ran through the middle of the round, and Dave Portnoy, the event’s rules official with Big Cat, made both. Ellis’s three said Spiranac had pressed down the long grass around Togisala’s ball before he played it; her three lost the hole anyway, so nothing was called, and she said she had not known it was against the rules. Then it was Togisala’s rangefinder: the event banned the slope setting, and after an anonymous tip he was filmed taking it out of the cart to show it was off. Portnoy watched the cart-camera footage, said it looked bad, pulled Togisala aside and took his word for it. No penalty.

“I pulled him aside, talked to him … Hand to God. Done. That's it.” – Dave Portnoy

Cody Franke, Barstool’s Beef and a PGA professional out of Ferris State’s golf management program, died over the weekend of October 25, 2025, of what Fore Play called a sudden medical issue. He was 31. The series had been set to start on Monday the 27th; it went up a day late.

Episode 1 opens on Riggs saying Franke’s family wanted it to run. Then Franke hits the first tee shot in the event’s history.

“We love Beef. We'll love him forever and he will always be a part of us.”

Asked before the final what he would do with the money, Franke said he would give some to charity and pay off his parents’ house. Fore Play posted the clip the night the final aired.

What would Beef do if he won the @Internetinvite money? Donate to charity. Pay off his parents’ house. Just the type of guy Cody Franke was, man. RIP ❤️t.co/CJ8kgbQ10z

Barstool and Bob Does Sports announced the field on July 9, 2025: 48 personalities, at least $1 million. It was filmed August 12–16 at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri, with Fore Play’s Riggs and Bob Does Sports himself voted captains. J.R. Smith missed his flight and Lacey Snell, a college golfer from Big Cedar, took his place.

The format halved the field every day. Day 1 was the two teams of 24 in 12 matches of 2-man scramble, then 12 of alternate shot, 9 holes each; the losing 24 went home. Day 2 redrafted the 24 left into two teams of 12 and did it again, with a $4,000 skin on every hole. The last 12 split into 4 threes for an 18-hole alternate-shot semifinal on the Cliffhangers par 3s, and the top 2 played for the million.

The week went the way it aired. In episode 1 Riggs’s team took the Day 1 morning 8-4 after Luke Kwon, Bob’s 3rd pick, slept through his 9:30 tee time and cost his team 4 holes. In episode 2 Bob’s team won 5 of the 12 alternate-shot matches and still went home, Riggs’s clinching at 12½.

Episode 3 redrafted the 24 under Riggs and Frankie Borrelli and brought in the skins; Riggs’s team took the morning 4-2, and two of its pairs turned down Portnoy’s money for the point — $56,000 for Sara Winter and Chaz Bowker, $100,000 for George Bryan and The Jet. In episode 4 Borrelli’s 12 came back 5-1 to go through 7-5, and Bubbie Broders turned down $250,000 on the spot. In episode 5 Spiranac’s and Dalke’s threes reached the final and both said no to a playoff that would have doubled it to $2 million.

“It's a team game. I ain't doing that to my team.”

The 2025 series drew about 30 million views by Heavy’s count, and Portnoy put this year’s prize pool at $4 million on May 30. The second Invitational was filmed August 10–16, at Big Cedar again by CaddyBytes’ account; no premiere date has been announced.
