Brandon Walker crowned king of Barstool CFB Show Week 9

TLDR: Week 9 of the Barstool College Football Show premiered Thursday with Dave Portnoy crowning Brandon Walker the No. 1 college football guy in the world and Mut named Big Cat's GOAT of the Week.

Walker was on the desk this week, and Dave did not hold back on the praise. He signed off on it about as loudly as Dave signs off on anything.

For anyone outside the Barstool bubble, that line wasn't just Dave being nice. Walker already runs his own college football show with Liam Blutman, three nights a week during the season, and he put out a Week 9 preview the night before this episode that included a 1-on-1 with Lane Kiffin. Putting him next to Dave, Big Cat, Katic and Kayce is like bringing in a closer. Katic tweeted it plainly: they love BFW.

The best moment of Walker's run came when he admitted something everybody already suspected. Rico Bosco is the guy Barstool's college football corner measures every unhinged take against, and Walker owned up to being part of that family.

Then there's Mut and the Southwick Jug, the trophy nobody can keep track of. The jug is an antique bean crock on 2 tiers of oak. A UMass NIL collective made it for the UConn-UMass game, and it was never handed over after UConn won in 2024. This year UConn beat UMass 35-16 on October 23 at Rentschler Field, with Barstool's college football show on site. The trophy was supposed to go to the winner again. It didn't, and on Wake Up Barstool on October 26 the blame went straight to Mut.

“Throw a stock down though to the Mut man... he did not do it and he lost the trophy.”

Three days later Big Cat took the story in the other direction. In his version Mut didn't lose the jug, he was a man of his word and kept it safe for next season. That earned him the GOAT of the Week, which is a very Barstool way to close out a lost-trophy scandal.

The Southwick Jug is the trophy that no one wants, but Mut was a man of his word and made sure it was safe and sound for next season. Big Cat's @reeses GOAT of the Week

The episode closed with the Dark Horse Parlay, and the crew mostly went big on underdogs. Dave took the shortest number, Northwestern +3.5, and said on air he thinks Northwestern is pretty freaking good. Walker had Syracuse +10.5, Kayce went with Minnesota +20.5, and Katic took Navy +30.5, the longest line on the board.

Are you riding with the Barstool College Football Show crew with the Week 9 Dark Horse Parlay? Dave: North Western (+3.5) BFW: Syracuse (+10.5) Katic: Navy (+30.5) Kayce: Minnesota (+20.5) @DKSports #DKPartner

Saturday decides the rest. If Navy covers 30.5, Katic gets to brag for a week, and if the parlay cashes, Walker can tell people he picked a winner on his first big appearance. The jug question isn't going away either: UConn won it again and still never got it, so expect to hear about Mut and the Southwick Jug next season too.
