Billy Liucci takes Mike Elko's shot to Wake Up Barstool

TLDR: 2 days after Mike Elko called TexAgs "Billy's cesspool" following a 27-6 loss to Missouri, Billy Liucci went on Wake Up Barstool with Texas A&M sitting at 3-3.
The chyron called him the executive editor and co-owner of TexAgs.com. The ticker below it had a segment titled "Elko vs Ags."
Not a cult!
Here's how it started. On Saturday, Texas A&M lost 27-6 to No. 14 Missouri and fell to 3-3. Elko got asked about the noise in his postgame presser and split his fans into 2 groups. "There's a difference to me between the fan base and social media," he said. "So there's one group that I really don't care much about. Billy's cesspool can go be Billy's cesspool." A head coach naming the guy who runs the biggest message board in his own fan base is not something you see every week.
Liucci didn't stay quiet for long. He posted that he was going to "show restraint here (for now)," then said that a coach who loses 27-6 and "immediately" calls out "an incredibly large portion of the loyal but also understandably frustrated fan base" had made "a wildly unnecessary misstep." Liucci has been the main Texas A&M insider for close to 30 years, ever since he took over the Maroon & White Report in 1997. He isn't some random account Elko can wave off.
There's also an I-told-you-so on the Barstool side. Back on September 23, before A&M's season fell apart, Brandon Walker told the Wake Up Barstool audience that the Aggies' strong 2025 was built on a soft schedule and wouldn't happen again.
“Last year, they played a schedule that allowed them to look like a playoff team.” – Brandon Walker
So on Monday morning the same set had the guy Elko called out and a host who had been calling A&M a fraud for weeks. Kayce Smith used to work at TexAgs, so this one was personal for her, and she summed up the panel in 1 line.
Now it's on Elko. He's 3-3 and in open conflict with the site where his loudest fans hang out, and a lot more people than usual saw it play out on a Monday. If the Aggies don't turn things around soon, "Billy's cesspool" is going to stick to his tenure and nobody in College Station will be able to forget it.
