TLDR: Telluride Bush's Jj and Mook are each drafting and coaching their own team in the iicons $50,000 Call of Duty Shuffle, which starts Wednesday, October 29 at 2:30 EST.

The Telluride Bush gaming account confirmed the news Wednesday morning, a few hours before the draft.

FOR THE $50,000 CALL OF DUTY SHUFFLE... WHO WILL COACH THEIR TEAM TO VICTORY? @Repullze @Nicari @Jerrythekid21 @ConnorMook_ @Pamaj @Nadeshot @Marksman @OpTicMaNiaC t.co/m3SgoATNkc

A shuffle is the right format for a couple of content guys to crash. In a normal Call of Duty tournament you stack the best roster you can and grind. In a shuffle, the players go into a pool and the coaches pick teams from it. That makes draft day the main event. Jj and Mook don't need to be the best players in the lobby. They need to read a board better than the people picking next to them.

Those other people are a big deal. The coaching field reportedly includes Repullze, Nicari, Pamaj, Nadeshot, Marksman and OpTicMaNiaC. Nadeshot is a former OpTic Gaming captain who went on to found 100 Thieves, so the Bush is sitting at a table of real Call of Duty names. Then about 20 minutes after the announcement, the player pool went up.

@tBushGaming Holy shit.

That reply is about the pool, and it tells you the coaches are picking from talent good enough to make people say it out loud. iicons has done this before: it ran a $50,000 Black Ops 7 Shuffle Invitational last November. The format is set up for chaos, because any coach who drafts well can turn a pool of random names into a team that takes the money.

The draft is at 2:30 EST. The first picks are the thing to watch. If Jj or Mook goes for the big name early, that's a bet on star power. If they take a role player, that's a sign they've done some homework. After that it's on them to coach a pickup roster through a bracket against people who have done this professionally. Either way, the Bush has 2 horses in a $50,000 race, and that beats watching from the couch.
