Chad Ryland misses extra point, then sinks Cowboys in OT

TLDR: Gardner Minshew hit Michael Wilson to tie Dallas 30-30 with 6 seconds left, Chad Ryland missed the winning extra point wide left, then hit a 42-yarder in overtime to win 33-30.

Arizona was down 30-24 in Jerry World with the clock about to run out when Minshew found Wilson over the middle.

MINSHEW MAGIC HAS STRUCK IN JERRY WORLD

That's a 13-yard touchdown to tie it at 30, according to the VAVEL live tracker. At that point Minshew was 14-for-18 for 160 yards and 2 scores, per the FOX graphic, and he finished 17-for-23 for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns. All Arizona needed was the extra point. A chip shot. The kick every NFL kicker makes in his sleep.

All you need to do is make the extra point & you win… THE CARDINALS MISSED IT

Ryland pushed it wide left. That sent a game Arizona had basically won into overtime. The mood around the Barstool timeline was less 'what a finish' and more 'nobody deserves this one.' Dave Portnoy took the both-teams-are-bad approach.

Big Cat went harder at Dallas. His tweet came the minute Wilson scored, and his complaint was the Cowboys' conservative play-calling. In his view, settling for field goals more than once is how you end up handing Arizona a final drive in your own building.

Cardinals!!! Cowboys deserve to lose playing for field goals not once but twice. Just so dumb

Ryland got his redemption. With 2:53 left in overtime he hit a 42-yard walk-off field goal for the 33-30 win. He's done this before, too. In Week 6 against the Rams, Arizona ran the fire drill with 3 seconds left and Ryland won it with a 43-yarder, and VSiN walked through the finish the next day.

“Ryland 43-yard field goal, pure. 18-16 Cardinals win.”

That makes 2 walk-off kicks in 3 weeks, with a missed PAT that nearly blew this one in between. If you're a Cardinals fan, that's the kicker experience in a nutshell. Dallas has it worse. The Cowboys outlasted Arizona's offense for 59 minutes and change and still lost at home. Arizona outgained them 467-261, and Tyler Allgeier ran for 147 yards on 11 carries, so this wasn't a fluke. It's also the Cardinals' 8th win in their last 9 games against Dallas.

So Minshew Magic gets the highlight, and Ryland gets to laugh about the miss. The Cowboys get another week of people asking why they kept kicking field goals instead of trying to put Arizona away.
