Chasing Goals crew needs 6 at MSG as Lafrenière scores 2
TLDR: Barstool's DraftKings-backed Chasing Goals crew brought Rico Bosco to Madison Square Garden needing 6 goals in Rangers vs. Lightning, and Alexis Lafrenière scored twice in the 1st period to get them started.
Before the Garden, the night started a few blocks away at The Canuck True North on 7th Ave, where elio82 put out the call for a 5:30 meetup.

The number was set before anyone got near a turnstile. For the whole night, every hand on this tour cared about 1 thing, and it wasn't who won. It was 6. Rico Bosco, riding along for New York, made sure everyone knew it, in English and in Spanish.

The 6 was the total for both teams, not a Rangers number. On the episode filmed at the bar, the crew said they were on the over and walked through the goalie situation. Igor Shesterkin is done for the year with a knee injury, so Dylan Garand was starting for New York, and Andrei Vasilevskiy was in net for Tampa. The crew called that last part 'not ideal.'

There was some confidence behind it. On the same episode, the crew bragged that last week, betting from home, they hit a Carolina over 6.5 and a Mammoth over 6.5 and cashed a 7-to-1 parlay on DraftKings. This was also a rematch: the Rangers beat Tampa 5-1 at the Garden on October 1, the night Shesterkin scored the first goalie goal in franchise history. For an over bettor, a goal is a goal no matter which bench it comes from. Tampa helped late in the 1st when Zemgus Girgensons scored for the Lightning, which put 3 on the board after 1 period. That's halfway to 6 with 40 minutes left, a Tampa team that likes to shoot, and a coach the crew said happily pulls his goalie early. Rangers fans got 2 Lafrenière goals out of the 1st. The Chasing Goals crew needs 3 more from anybody.
