Dave Portnoy rips Ryan Day after Ohio State loses to USC

TLDR: Dave Portnoy went after Ryan Day within minutes of USC's 30-18 upset of No. 2 Ohio State, then dropped the Buckeyes from his top 10 entirely.
Portnoy watched the end of the game in full Michigan gear, which tells you everything about how sincere the sympathy was.

It makes me sick to my stomach watching USC bully and bruise a once proud Ohio State team. Ryan Day once again totally lost when the pressure is on. YOU HATE TO SEE IT! One day Ohio State fans will thank me for bringing Ryan Day’s big game ineptitude too justice
"Makes me sick to my stomach" is a Michigan guy enjoying himself, plain and simple. The bit is that he's doing Buckeye fans a favor by exposing Day's "big game ineptitude," and Saturday night handed him plenty to work with. Ohio State came in ranked No. 2 and riding a 5-game win streak, then got outplayed by a Lincoln Riley team on Halloween night. The Buckeyes were without starting QB Julian Sayin, who hurt his right arm against Indiana on October 17, so true freshman Luke Fahey made his first career start. He went 21-of-38 for 260 yards and a touchdown. Ohio State also committed 11 penalties for 75 yards and settled for field goals in the red zone.
That excuse didn't get a minute of airtime from Portnoy. He went straight back to the beef from his last top 10, where he put Ohio State at No. 8 and Buckeye fans let him hear about it.

Remember when Ohio State fans were crying I ranked them 8? As it turns out maybe they shouldnt have been ranked at all? Doesnt look like a playoff team to me
About 8 minutes later he posted the new list. UCLA is No. 1, Indiana is in at No. 6, and Wake Forest grabbed the last spot. Ohio State is nowhere on it.

New Dave Portnoy Rankings are Out…. 1. UCLA 2. Miami 3. Utah 4. Kentucky 5. Georgia 6. Indiana 7. BYU 8. ND 9. Texas Tech 10. Wake Forest
The part that has to sting in Columbus is who did it. A week ago, Barstool's own morning show was ready to write off the Riley era at USC as a punchline.
Seven days later that same team beat the No. 2 team in the country by 12. Riley called it a game between "2 of the best teams in the country" that came down to "who plays the situations best." Day's postgame message was that his team didn't play well enough "to support a young freshman quarterback" making his first start on the road. Both things can be true, and the injury is a real excuse. It's just not one that gets you any slack from the guy whose whole Ryan Day bit is that he loses the big ones.
Now Ohio State has to hope Sayin's arm comes around in time to save the season, because its playoff hopes took a real hit Saturday. Until the Buckeyes win something that matters, Portnoy gets to keep running this bit, and he's clearly not getting tired of it.
