DraftKings Road Trip: Three Barstool Teams Race Across the Country to Rone

DraftKings just turned three Barstool staffs loose on a 1,400-mile race to Texas, and the only thing on the line is a $10,000 bonus bet and bragging rights.

Barstool's newest staff competition doesn't have a beach house or a season-long story arc attached to it. It has a map, a stopwatch, and a sportsbook partner writing the check. The DraftKings Road Trip pits 3 teams of Barstool staffers against each other in a straight-up race: cover 1,400 miles, get to Rone in Texas first, and the winning team walks away with a $10,000 bonus bet.

The @DKSports Road Trip starts THIS SUNDAY 3 teams will travel 1,400 miles across the country looking to be the first team to meet Rone in Texas and win a $10k bonus bet #DKPartner

A man wearing a cap, headphones, and a blue t-shirt sits at a desk with a microphone, talking and gesturing with his hand raised; a DraftKings Road Trip promotional graphic showing eight people and a US map with a route is displayed on the left side of the screen.

Barstool has run staff-vs-staff road trip formats before, most notably the multi-season "Barstool vs. America" series that sent employees chasing a $40,000 prize across a handful of cities. This one is smaller in scale but sharper in stakes, since it's tied directly to a DraftKings bonus bet rather than a season-long point system, and it kicks off this Sunday according to the official announcement.

The rosters are already trash-talking. Megan says her squad, built around herself, Katic Michael and Dana Beers, has "grit" and is ready to "pound pavement" all the way to the finish line.

MY TEAM HAS GRIT @KaticMichael and @danabeers are the best possible partners for this #dkroadtrip challenge. We are about to pound pavement See y’all at the finish line 🫡

On the other side of the bracket, Mintzy's crew is hyping its own run with a simple battle cry: "We Comin'." With Dana Beers' team also fired up and posting from the road-trip kickoff, all 3 squads are treating this like it's winner-take-all -- because, functionally, it is.

There's no scoreboard tracking mile markers yet, no confirmed leg-by-leg route, and no word on what happens to the teams that don't make it to Rone first -- just the promise of a multi-day chase that's supposed to run Sunday through Tuesday. For a company that's built entire shows out of staffers stuck in cars together, that's plenty to work with. Whoever gets to Texas first cashes a $10,000 bonus bet; everyone else just gets the group chat screenshots.
