Fore Play's Ireland Trip Ends With a Near-Beheading at Ardglass

Episode 4 of Fore Play's Ireland series dropped from Ardglass, and the internet only cares about the swing that almost took a caddie's head off.

The Fore Play crew's Ireland trip has been a scenery tour as much as a golf show, and stop 4 at Ardglass Golf Club in Northern Ireland might be the best backdrop yet. Presented by adidas, the travel series has been rolling out coastal course after coastal course, but Ardglass — a links track built into rocky shoreline with a stone hotel looming over the first tee — looks like it belongs in a different category entirely.

Drone footage of Ardglass shows the stone clubhouse, coastal fairways, and a raised tee box hanging over the Atlantic.

Riggs summed up the vibe with an all-timer of a description, and honestly the footage backs it up. An elevated tee box with stone retaining walls, ocean stretching out behind the golfers, rugged terrain everywhere you look — it's the kind of setup that makes you forget anyone's actually trying to keep score.

Riggs called it an all-world first tee shot, and the drone shot of the coastal opening hole makes the case.

But the scenery isn't what's trending. That's thanks to a clip of Frankie nearly turning a TaylorMade rep into a highlight-reel casualty. The caption calls it an almost-decapitation, and while nobody's actually hurt, the cart-cam angle of Frankie reaching toward the guy's neck mid-swing is exactly the kind of chaos that makes these Fore Play travel episodes worth watching over a straight golf broadcast.

Frankie nearly clips his guy at Ardglass in a moment that's since gone viral off the Fore Play account.

It's a good problem for the pod to have — a legitimately great episode about a legitimately beautiful golf course, and the internet still zeroes in on the 2 seconds of near-carnage. That's the Fore Play formula though: gorgeous courses, good golf, and somebody almost getting hurt on camera. Episode 4 is out now, and if the Ardglass stop is any indication, the rest of this Ireland series is going to be appointment viewing.
