Dave Portnoy loves Mike Elko's Billy's Cesspool line

TLDR: After a 27-6 loss at Missouri dropped Texas A&M to 3-3, Mike Elko told the TexAgs crowd that "Billy's cesspool can go be Billy's cesspool," and Dave Portnoy immediately claimed it as a blog name.
Elko said it at the postgame podium in Columbia. Dave got hold of the clip and had a lot more fun with it than anyone in College Station did.
Some background for anyone outside Texas. "Billy" is Billy Liucci, executive editor and co-owner of TexAgs, the independent A&M site whose forums are where Aggie fans go to lose their minds after a bad Saturday. Elko split the people yelling at him into 2 groups. On one side is the fan base: "stay with us, be behind us." On the other is social media, which he said he doesn't care much about. Then he named the message board after its boss. Dave hears "Billy's Cesspool" and thinks it's a masthead, and honestly, he's right.
This wasn't a heat-of-the-moment snap after one bad game. A&M started 2-0, then lost to Kentucky, LSU and now Missouri. The Aggies got held out of the end zone at Mizzou, and it was the 2nd time in 3 games they didn't score a touchdown. Dave had already been piling on back in September, after the 1st loss, on Wake Up Barstool.
“It's about A&M just absolutely being a farce of a football program.” – Dave Portnoy
Liucci didn't let it go. He fired back that a head coach losing 27-6 and then "immediately calling out an incredibly large portion of the loyal but also understandably frustrated fan base was a wildly unnecessary misstep." He has a point about the size of that audience. TexAgs runs more than 50 community forums with tens of thousands of users, and that's a lot of season-ticket holders to lump into a cesspool in your 3rd year on the job.
The loyalists Elko was talking to did answer, though. Kayce Smith, an Aggie herself, posted her own pledge the same night.
That's the deal Elko is offering: ignore the boards and trust the guy who has won every October game he has coached at A&M, or did until Saturday. Losing at Missouri ended that streak, and A&M's Playoff hopes are close to gone. The only way "Billy's cesspool" becomes a funny line instead of an epitaph is if the Aggies win the back half of the season. If they don't, Billy gets the last word, and Dave probably gets a new blog name anyway.
