PFT Commenter has 6,000 unread texts and is proud of it

TLDR: PFT Commenter has about 6,000 unread text messages, a number that came out on Macrodosing, and instead of apologizing, PFT reposted the clip with a flexed bicep.
It started with a simple question for the internet: how many unread texts are acceptable before you are officially a problem?
Most people have a number in their head. Some people are zero-inbox maniacs who can't sleep with a red bubble on their screen. Others let a couple dozen pile up and call it a busy week. Then there's PFT, who according to the clip Barstool put out a few hours later is sitting on roughly 6,000 unread messages. That isn't a backlog. That's another phone's worth of texts.
Anyone who has followed PFT for long won't be shocked. Macrodosing started in 2021 as a weekly show with former NFL running back Arian Foster, and it has always run on PFT's chaos. The show sells itself as a twice-weekly macrodose of knowledge, covering everything from conspiracy theories to deep dives on historical events. A guy who will happily spend an hour on a conspiracy rabbit hole but won't open a text from his dentist is pretty much the Macrodosing brand.
The best part is how PFT responded. When the 6,000 number went public, he could have played it off or claimed it was mostly spam. He didn't. He posted the clip himself with a single emoji.
That bicep tells you everything. To PFT, 6,000 unread isn't a cry for help. It's a stat to be proud of. And honestly, there's some logic to it. If you never open the texts, nobody knows you've seen them, and nobody can be mad that you didn't answer. It's the same zero-accountability approach that has fueled about a decade of PFT bits.
Now everybody else has to answer the original question. If 6,000 is the ceiling and somebody is proudly flexing it, your 40 unread texts suddenly look pretty responsible. Check your phone, count the red bubble, and decide whether you're a zero-inbox person or a PFT person. There's apparently no middle ground.
