Jersey Jerry puts $5k on Bush Gaming 1v1 tournament

TLDR: Telluride Bush Gaming ran a 1v1 tournament with an intro from H3CZ and a "Fuck Jace" moment from Aspekttt_, and Jersey Jerry agreed to pay the winner $5k.

The Bush Gaming 1v1 tourney got a big-name opener before anybody played a round.

That is a real get for a Challengers org. H3CZ is about as close to royalty as Call of Duty has, and having him open your in-house bracket tells people this is more than a few guys messing around on a Friday. Telluride Bush Gaming is the CDL Challengers team run by Lil Sas, Jersey Jerry and Connor Mook. It has spent the season building out a whole content arm around the roster: a podcast, the Owner's Meeting videos and a COD tournament with Barstool employees.

Then the event got its clip of the day. Aspekttt_ was asked about Jace, kept it to 2 words, and the org account posted it with a crying-laughing emoji.

“Fuck Jace” - @Aspekttt_ 😂

Nobody has explained what's behind the beef, and we won't guess. But a team account happily posting its own guy's "Fuck Jace" is the kind of thing that makes an org event worth watching. Shouting at the camera beats a tidy press release every time.

Next came the money. Jerry, 1 of the 3 owners, agreed on the spot to pay $5k to whoever wins the 1v1 bracket. The account gave him a public thank-you.

W @Jerrythekid21 for being so generous and agreeing to pay $5k to the winner of the 1v1 tourney 🙏❤️

That changes things. A 1v1 for bragging rights is a scrim. A 1v1 for $5k means somebody leaves with real money, and every player in the bracket now has a reason to sweat. It also fits the way Jerry runs this team: loud, impulsive and willing to spend if it gets the content going.

The org has posted the whole thing for anyone who missed it live.

We don't have a winner yet, so the thing to watch is who takes the $5k and whether Jerry pays up as fast as he agreed to. Also keep an eye out for Jace. If he answers, this tournament could end up as the start of a feud.
