Internet Invitational 2026 Episode 3: The Prize Gets Even Bigger
TLDR: Ryan Ruffels's team leads Wesley Bryan's 6-2 after Wednesday morning's eight scramble matches, with the afternoon's singles to come, and singles count double. The ninth hole, worth $50,000 to the pair that won it and carried over on every tie, had grown to $200,000 when Paige Spiranac holed the putt that took it for white.
Day 1's two winners kept their teams. The committee offered a redraft if either side wanted one; neither did (“I want to keep my team”). Each team chose its own pairs, and the committee chose who played whom: “You're not picking who you're playing.” Ruffels's team is white, Wesley Bryan's green.
The morning is 2v2 scramble. Every team gets one shot from Kevin Kisner, declared before he hits it and never on the ninth, and the ninth is worth $50,000 to the pair that wins it, $25,000 each. A halved ninth passes to the next group out.
While the matchups were drawn, Big John and Ruffels rang Doug at Reaper, the maker of the putter Big John won Day 1 with, and Ruffels made the pitch.
Jersey Jerry's team went out on Day 1, and he had told his girlfriend he was bringing home $50,000 at least. Frankie Borrelli rang him with the news that everyone still playing has a $50,000 hole.
Green spent its Kisner shot on a par 3. He hit a nine-iron from 158 yards and the wind took it. White had seen the club, picked him for the same shot, and he hit an eight-iron to 12 feet; white won the hole to go dormie. White credited the plan to Gruden.

“I hit a nine iron. It was 158 yards and it was just smoked by the wind.” – Kevin Kisner
The ninth kept carrying over until it was worth, by the players' count, “200 grand,” when Jake Adams's eight-iron nearly went in and Paige Spiranac stood over the putt. She made it: “a full point for white and the 25 G's for everybody.”
The last match was the captains' own: Bob and Wesley Bryan against Ruffels and Riggs, who were two up on the fifth. Green took it back over the last holes, Bob's tee shot among them, and won, so the morning finished 6-2, not 7-1.
The singles are worth 16 points: “Wow. 6-2. You can come back with 16.”
