Dave Portnoy hypes Riggs as the face of Adidas Golf

TLDR: Dave Portnoy said Adidas Golf could have hired any pretty-boy YouTube golfer and picked Riggs instead, and once the Yak put Riggs's sweater vest and beanie on screen, Riggs leaned all the way into the joke.
It started as a Prez victory lap for the sales team, with a backhanded compliment for the guy in the ad mixed in.

See this is why I love our clients. Adidas Golf could advertise with anybody. There are tons of pretty boy youtube golfers with pretty smiles and prettier swings. And Adidas says fuck it give me Riggs. No fluff. Just Rigsy saying if I can wear this anybody can
That is about as Dave as a compliment gets. He isn't saying Riggs is the best-looking golfer on the internet. He's saying Riggs isn't, and that's the point. The YouTube golf world is full of guys with perfect teeth and tour-quality swings, and Adidas went with the Fore Play host whose whole pitch is basically: if I can pull this off, so can you. Relatable sells, and Dave clearly thinks his client figured that out.
This isn't some random one-off either. Barstool Golf has an official partnership with Adidas, and the 2 brands already put out a Barstool Golf x Adidas Samba golf shoe tied to the WM Phoenix Open, built around Riggs, Frankie and Trent from Fore Play. Riggs being the face of the gear is just the next step for a partnership that's already up and running.
Riggs wasn't about to let the moment go by without a joke, and his first reply showed he knew exactly what kind of fit he was working with.
He had already set up the bit himself on Instagram, and the Yak grabbed it. The show put his story up on the stream: a light-blue striped sweater vest, a pom-pom beanie, a golf course and the caption "Took a risk today." Put that on the screen in front of the Yak crew and it was never going to stay a style post.
"Best night of his life" is obviously exaggerated. Still, you can tell how much the room enjoyed getting a Riggs outfit served up to them on a Thursday afternoon. And when the guy in the ad is getting roasted for the exact clothes he's selling, it pretty much proves Dave's no-fluff point for him.
Riggs got the last word, too, answering Dave directly with a reminder that this look apparently has a market.
That's the right way to handle it. You don't argue with the Yak about a pom-pom beanie. You agree it's ridiculous and point out somebody is cutting checks for it anyway. Adidas wanted a guy who could wear the gear without taking himself seriously, and inside of an hour Riggs had made fun of himself, gotten roasted on the Yak and laughed about it in Dave's replies. Next up: we find out whether Stoolies actually buy the sweater vest or just keep screenshotting it.
