Mike Katic gets last laugh as UCLA stuns Oregon in Eugene

TLDR: UCLA went into Autzen Stadium as a double-digit underdog and beat Oregon 17-15 to move to 5-0, and Mike Katic wants everyone to know his bulletin-board shot at the Ducks helped.
Katic had called Oregon soft before kickoff. Once the final whistle went, he wasn't going to stay quiet about it.
My bulletin board material worked for UCLA!! Love @CoachBobChesney and what he’s building! Oregon has confirmed my prior thoughts of them being soft
For anyone who doesn't know the name: Katic was a 4-year starter on Indiana's offensive line, played left guard and then center, and was a team captain before he joined Barstool in 2025. He played in the Big Ten the year Oregon and UCLA came into the league, so this isn't some random guy dunking from his couch. His whole argument was that the Ducks look the part and fold when they get hit in the mouth. That was a spicy take with Oregon favored by 11.5 at home, though not everybody in the betting world was buying the Ducks either.
“Oregon's favored by 11 and a half points in this game. I'm kind of leaning towards UCLA right now.”
The lean cashed. No. 21 UCLA held off No. 13 Oregon 17-15 in Eugene, and it ended with Oregon coming up short on 4th & 10 as time ran out. The Bruins are 5-0, and Bob Chesney is the first coach in UCLA history to open his tenure 5-0. Oregon falls to 3-2.
It was not pretty. The 2 teams combined for 10 turnovers, 7 of them Oregon's. With Dante Moore still in concussion protocol, Dylan Raiola got the start for the Ducks and went 6-of-18 for 43 yards with 2 picks before Brock Thomas replaced him in the 4th quarter. UCLA had its own quarterback trouble: Nico Iamaleava got hurt and never came back, and backup Ty Dieffenbach had to finish the job. Big Cat summed up the whole thing perfectly.
UCLA eventually stopped giving the ball back, and Oregon never did. Wayne Knight ran for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Bruins, while the Ducks' offense spent the night stuck in its own end. That's what set off BFW.
With the Ducks unable to get anything going, Big Cat said out loud what Katic would spend the rest of the night celebrating.
Big Cat is joking about the apology, but Katic is right about the result. Chesney walked into a program that was supposed to be rebuilding in his first year, and now he has a road win over a top-15 team, UCLA's first win over a ranked opponent on the road since 2019. Oregon now has 2 losses in its last 3 games, and the 'soft' label is going to stick until Moore is healthy and the offense can move the ball again. Until then, Katic gets to keep taking his victory lap.
