Fore Play chases Reese's ace at Hershey Oct. 13, 1PM ET

TLDR: Fore Play is going live at 1PM ET today from Hershey Country Club with Reese's, trying to make a hole-in-one on a 144-yard hole while the whole thing streams.

The Fore Play account opened the day with a promo clip and zero hedging: they are not hoping for an ace, they are getting one.

TODAY IS THE DAY. WE NEED AN ACE. WE’RE GETTING AN ACE. Tune in at 1PM ET! @reeses

Hype tweets don't make holes-in-one. The video is a sponsor promo, and "WE'RE GETTING AN ACE" is what you say before a stunt, not a result. It also raises the stakes. If you call your shot that loudly and then spend an afternoon missing greens on camera, the internet keeps the receipts.

The setting is a real golf venue. Hershey Country Club is the course that hosted the Reese's Cup Classic, a pro tournament played there in 2003 and 2004 under the Reese's name. Two decades later the candy brand is back at the same club, this time paying for a group of self-described common golfers to swing at one par 3 until somebody hits it in the hole or the stream runs out.

Now there's a number on it: 144 yards. For a scratch player that's a short iron or a wedge, and it's about as friendly an ace distance as you'll find. It's still a hole-in-one. Amateurs who play their whole lives can go without ever making one, so even from a perfect yardage, a single afternoon is a lot to ask. A short hole helps Fore Play's chances, but it also means a miss doesn't get blamed on the distance.

It all airs live on the Fore Play YouTube channel and their social accounts at 1PM ET. That format makes it watchable. Ace attempts are either the most boring content on earth or the best 3 seconds of the year, and a live audience is there for both the lip-outs and the moment someone finally drops one. Whether today ends with the guys sprinting across the tee box or quietly packing up, that's what the stream will settle.
