Telluride Bush hires MJCheen, Rayless_AK for new season
TLDR: Telluride Bush Gaming named MJCheen its new head coach and Rayless_AK its new head analyst, and in the same breath insisted SweggyCOD is not fired and keeps an important staff role.
Barstool's Call of Duty team opened its new staff rollout with the biggest name first: the head coach.
That's a big chair to fill. Telluride Bush isn't a side project anymore. Jersey Jerry, Mook and Lil Sas founded it, Barstool owns it, and the original roster had real CDL pedigree: TJHaly, Prolute, Spart and Capsidal. Temp joined as coach in November 2025 and Sweggy came on as analyst around the same time. That group won the Challengers Elite 2 NA event in 2026 and took the $20,000 prize. Last season showed the bar. MJCheen is the guy who now has to clear it.
The analyst announcement is where things got funny. Before naming the new head analyst, the account posted a disclaimer, which tells you they knew the next tweet would look like somebody getting replaced.
*would like to preface the next tweet by saying @SweggyCOD is NOT fired (although @JaceHumberson might’ve tried to), he is him, and will be playing an important role on bush staff this season*
They named Jace and everything. Whether Jace actually tried to can Sweggy or it's just staff trash talk, the message is clear: Sweggy is staying, he's 'him,' and he'll have a real job on the bench this season. The org just didn't say what that job is. Then, a minute later, came the actual news.
So Rayless_AK takes the head analyst title, and Sweggy moves into a role the org hasn't defined yet. The disclaimer did nothing to stop the replies. Prolute, who was on the original Bush roster, answered the analyst tweet by tagging both Sweggy and Rayless_AK with 2 words.
That reads like a guy who knows Sweggy well enough to give him grief, not a eulogy. Still, it's the exact reaction the preface was trying to head off. The excitement was loudest on the coaching hire. Temp, who coached the team last season, piled into the replies under the MJCheen announcement.
There's also a money side to this. In June, Dave Portnoy said there was '7 figures worth of salaries working on Bush' and that the team does 'absolutely nothing in terms of making money.' When the owner talks about the payroll like that, every staff hire is a bet that the results will justify it. What to watch: the rest of the rollout. The org has now named a coach and an analyst, promised Sweggy a role it hasn't described yet, and hasn't said anything about the players. Fans will want answers on the roster and on Sweggy's actual title before the first qualifier.
